Meet Anabel & Steve

Creative partners, spiritual seekers, and your retreat hosts

We’ve been partners in life and creativity for over 18 years. Our journey has taken us from the fast-paced worlds of journalism and branding into a slower, more soulful way of living, rooted in mindfulness, creativity, and connection.

Steve built his career in advertising and branding, and now runs The Photography Movement, a not-for-profit dedicated to using photography to support mental wellbeing. Anabel was a long-time journalist and editor before training as a reflexologist — she now runs a practice at The Portland Hospital, helping others reconnect with their bodies and inner calm.

Creativity has always been central to our lives. From co-creating a RIBA award-nominated home in London to leading meaningful projects together, we believe in creativity as a path to transformation. A 10-day silent Vipassana meditation retreat marked a profound turning point for us — since then, our lives have deepened with daily meditation, spiritual practice, and a new way of seeing the world.

Steve practices Buddhism, Anabel finds connection through yoga and mantra singing — and we both believe that peace and wisdom come through constant evolution.

This retreat is an invitation to step away, create, and reconnect. We’d be honoured to share the space with you.

Henry Fosbrooke

Musical Woodsman, Drum Maker & Fire Ceremony Guide

Henry is a woodsman and log builder. His journey into making musical instruments began with a simple question to a tree: “How can I fell you respectfully?” The answer? “Make drums.” Since then, he’s crafted his own instruments. Often described as the heartbeat of humanity, he now uses these drums to guide ceremonial fire sessions.

He fell in love with woodcraft at just 8 years old when given the opportunity to work on fallen trees at Sawston Manor—formally training in woodwork in 1991 on a Greenwood course. His musical roots trace back to piano and fiddle at school, pausing until guitar and songwriting found their spark alongside his drum-making.

Henry’s fire ceremonies combine custom-built drums, deep respect for trees and the land and an intimate connection with nature. In rhythm and ritual, he invites us to remember our own wild roots and commune with the ancestral pulse of the Earth.
