The Wilderness Retreat -
Matarraña, Eastern Spain
As spring blossoms into summer, the lighter, brighter days invite us to reawaken, energise and rediscover the creative pulse that lives within us all. Over six days and five nights, we will gather in the wild grandeur of the Spanish mountains between Barcelona and Valencia — a small group of ten — to explore, restore, and remember what it feels like to truly be alive.
Our retreat home is a restored Masia (farmhouse) set high in the dramatic coastal mountains of eastern Spain; the untamed landscape of Matarraña, one of Europe’s last great wildernesses,
Here, under vast skies and among almond groves and wild ibex, the air hums with stillness. You wake to mountain light and the gentle sounds of nature. This is wilderness at its most exquisite — a sanctuary for rest, reflection, and reconnection.
Lovingly restored, the luxurious masia offers modern comfort within ancient walls, with interiors that open out to sweeping views across valleys and ridgelines. Every detail has been designed to hold you gently in the beauty of the wild. The house is situated where Aragon, Catalunya and Valencia meet, an area unfrequented by non-Spaniards. Mas de la Serra, set on a 60-acre almond farm, boasts three sitting rooms with fireplaces, a home cinema, a map room, a wine cellar and honesty bar. The generously sized bedrooms all have en-suite bathrooms and breathtaking views of the landscape.
Nearby vertiginous ancient hill towns offer a taste of slow living — small bars and family-run restaurants serving honest, regional food. The surrounding countryside and lake invite adventure: walking, cycling, wild swimming, foraging, and quiet awe.
Mas de la Serra has been recognised by Condé Nast Traveller’s Hot List, but it remains blissfully secluded — a rare, hidden world of stillness and grandeur.
6 days/5 nights. Maximum 10 guests.
One extraordinary place.
THE RETREAT
Through photography, journaling, sketching, yoga, meditation, foraging and fierce cold swims, we open space for deep listening — to ourselves, to the land, and to the quiet rhythms that guide us home.
This is your invitation to return to the wild. To breathe. To create. To simply be.

THE PLACE
We’re honoured to be partnering with the owners of Mas de la Serra, a rustic stone farmhouse folded into a landscape so raw and expansive it could almost be Scotland, if not for the soft green shimmer of almond groves dotted around the landscape. Three terraces, a hammam, home cinema, pool table, mountain bikes and full time staff to cook and clean.
