The Wilderness Retreat -
Aragon, Eastern Spain

As summer fades into Autumn, the mellower days provide a sublime moment to go inwards, replenish and rediscover our creative souls. Whether you’re an accomplished artist/writer/photographer or a curious beginner, Over six days and five nights, we will gather in the wild grandeur of the Spanish mountains between Barcelona and Valencia - a small group of ten - to explore, restore, create and laugh.

Our retreat home is a restored Masia (farmhouse) set high in the dramatic coastal mountains of eastern Spain; the untamed landscape of Matarraña, one of Europe’s last great wildernesses,

Here, under vast skies and among almond groves and wild ibex, is space to breathe. You wake to mountain light and the gentle sounds of nature. This is wilderness at its most exquisite - a sanctuary for rest, reflection, and reconnection.

Lovingly restored, the luxurious masia offers modern comfort within ancient walls, with interiors that open out to sweeping views across valleys and ridgelines. Every detail has been designed to delight you in the beauty of the wild. The house is situated where Aragon, Catalunya and Valencia meet, an area unfrequented by non-Spaniards. Mas de la Serra, set on a 60-acre almond farm, boasts three sitting rooms with fireplaces, a home cinema, a map room, a wine cellar and honesty bar. The generously sized bedrooms all have en-suite bathrooms and breathtaking views of the landscape.

Nearby vertiginous ancient hill towns offer a taste of slow living - small bars and family-run restaurants serving honest, regional food. The surrounding countryside and lake invite adventure: walking, cycling, wild swimming, foraging, and awe.

Mas de la Serra has been recognised by Condé Nast Traveller’s Hot List, but it remains blissfully secluded - a rare, hidden world of stillness and grandeur.

6 days/5 nights. Maximum 10 guests.

One extraordinary place.

A landscape scene of a sunset over a green forest with a sky filled with pink, orange, and purple clouds. There are trees with twisted branches in the foreground and a hillside covered with dense trees in the background.
Scenic view of tall, rugged mountain cliffs with sunlight illuminating their sides, and a dense forest of pine trees covering the lower slopes, under a clear blue sky.
A stone house with a tiled roof located on a hillside, surrounded by trees and pink flowering trees, with mountain ranges in the background.
Two cyclists riding on a long stone bridge with arches spanning over a deep rocky canyon, tunnel at the end of the bridge, surrounded by rugged mountainous terrain and sparse vegetation.
Scenic view of a mountain range with lush green forested hills and a calm body of water in the foreground.

THE RETREAT

Through photography, journaling, sketching, yoga, meditation, foraging and cold swims, we open space for deep listening - to our heart’s desire, to the land, and to the quiet rhythms that guide us home.

Come back to your creative heart and discover what brings you joy - no experience necessary. What are you waiting for?

A cozy bedroom with a wooden ceiling and large glass doors leading to a balcony with outdoor chairs, overlooking a green hilly landscape.
A narrow canyon with high rocky walls and a calm river flowing through it, with some greenery on the rocks and in the background.
Group of people practicing yoga on mats around a swimming pool outdoors, surrounded by mountains and trees, with purple flowers in the foreground.
Three people enjoying a hot tub outdoors in a green mountainous landscape during sunset.

THE PLACE

We’re honoured to be partnering with the owners of  Mas de la Serra, a rustic stone farmhouse folded into a landscape so raw and expansive it could almost be Scotland, if not for the soft green shimmer of almond groves dotted around the landscape. Three terraces, a hammam, home cinema, pool table, mountain bikes and full time staff to cook and clean.

“Creativity is not a rare ability. It is not difficult to access. Creativity is a fundamental aspect of being human. It’s our birthright and it’s for all of us.”
